You May Be Horrified by Other Homeschoolers

There are a number of philosophies within the homeschooling community such as Un-schooling, School at Home, Charlotte Mason, and Secular Charlotte Mason, etc. that will cause you to think "these homeschoolers are not homeschooling and that is terrible". You think about the philosophy and it baffles you why people think that their children can learn this way.

Don't worry though because you soon realize that all those things are thoughts that run through people's minds when they meet you.

The fact of the matter is that all homeschoolers are very use to finding their own path even when everyone else doesn't understand. Homeschoolers are a bit more apt to go where their gut takes them because they know their child. Eventually you may find that the homeschooling philosophy that once horrified you is one that you think works a few years down the road.

I agree! Over the years I have changed the way I homeschool many times and tried things I never thought I would have, depending on my children's needs and our family situation. At one time I even thought homeschoolers were weird, but that's another story! :) Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Heather
