Unschooling High School
Have a teen with a learning disability? Homeschooling mom shares why she is unschooling high school; read her story...
We began trying a k12 program and while it would likely be great for a typical learner, my teen with LDs in writing, reading, and math really struggled. She came to me and said, "Mom, I just can't learn the material with the way it is presented." We are now focusing on unschooling and catering exactly to my very bright teen's learning style and strengths. She is gaining confidence and competence, unlike she was able to acquire in either a B & M school, an LD private school, or in a highly structured curriculum.Laurel,
Thanks so much for sharing your story with others! Your post will be helpful to those who are wondering if they can homeschool or are looking for homeschool curriculum for their teens who have LDs. Blessings, Heather :)
