The Story of the World Homeschool Review
The Story of the World Volume 1
We absolutely love The Story of the World, the 1st book. It brings History alive for the children and for you the educator. Each lesson has an activity that ranges from Coloring pages to Mummifying a Chicken.
If you are looking for a curriculum that strictly is from a Christian view this may not the curriculum for you. It does go into the gods of different religions. I personally like it because it gave the other side. And because it gave the other side, it allowed us to compare what we believed in our God and how it was different.
It is pricey. The Activity Book runs anywhere from $20-$35 and $13- $20 for the reader. The test and Answer key is another $8 -$12.
Personally I didn't buy the Test and Answer Key. A friend had told me it really was not worth the money. I made my own test up. It did take more time to make up the test, but saved money.
I think it is well worth what it cost for the curriculum. I will for sure be using the Second book this year.
Thanks for the Story of the World review, Sandy! I so appreciated the time you took to help other parents learn about this homeschool history curriculum. I also LOVE your money-saving tips! :) My daughter LOVES listening to the CDs - she has listened to them multiple times! Blessings, Heather
