Texas Home School Questions

Transitioning from public school to homeschooling; unsure mom has some Texas home school questions...

My son attended a school in May but I wanted to try out homeschooling this year for 8th grade. What do I need to buy? Do? etc? Do I need to let anybody know? Do I need to check him out of his school?

Hi Mary,
Since your son was enrolled in a school last year, I would notify the school to let them know he will not be returning this year. You will also want to request a copy of his school transcript, etc. for your records.

Texas homeschool laws are very nice; you do not have to register to legally homeschool. You can also choose whatever curriculum you want to use with your son.

You will find some helpful Texas homeschool information, as well as answers to other question you have about homeschooling in Texas on my website. Once you read through the various articles and posts, if you have additional questions, please let me know.

Blessings,
Heather :)
