Teaching Textbooks Pre-Algebra

by Nancy
(Broward, Florida )

We used Teaching Textbooks Pre-Algebra for a math co-op we ran this year and had great success with it because in the video they went through all the steps in explaining various ways of solving the problems and equations. I felt it was a good foundation for beginning Algebra I.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Teaching Textbooks, Pre-Algebra, Nancy! Blessings,
Heather :)

Teaching Textbooks Algebra

Teaching Textbooks Algebra curriculum has been a lifesaver! As my child began 8th grade and was ready for Algebra, I noticed I was going to need help. Teaching Textbooks is fantastic. We bought the workbook too. I highly recommend this program.

Teaching Textbooks is a great Supplement for Math NEW
by: Nina

My kids love math and do quite well in it. We started homeschooling earlier this year and although the main math program they had was great I wanted to give them another option and way to learn and reinforce their math. We selected Teaching Textbooks. After testing them we found that TT was about 2 years behind, until you got to Pre-Algebra. My youngest son did 2 grades up from the formal standard math program he was using and started at TT math6. My daughter wanted to use it with her Algebra 1 program. After awhile both kids compaired their structured math curriculum with TT and although they like TT they felt it had gaps and seemed more like a review since their core math curriculum moved at a faster pace with more depth. So we are keeping TT as a Supplement and won't be making it our core math curriculum. Also, when you check your kids grades in the gradebook watch how many times they 'redo' a problem and you may want to review that concept with them. TT is a very small spiral so some students may forget facts.
