"Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" by Siegfried Engelmann

Affordable Homeschool Reading Curriculum

Great homeschool reading tips and review by a homeschooling veteran! After 24 years of homeschooling success, I think she knows what she is talking about...

As a homeschool mom since 1987, I have used "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" with our fifth and sixth child. I am now using this book to teach my 4 year old grandson to read as well.

This book breaks down reading into "bite size" pieces, each lesson building and reviewing on the previous ones. This is not a site word book, but teaches your child phonics. Giving your child a strong phonetic base will open up the world to him or her as a confident, capable reader.

Though this book may not be for everyone, I found it to be an indispensable part of our homeschool curriculum. For less than 22.00 it is a good bargain as well. When it comes to reading, let your child lead no matter what curriculum you choose. When they are ready, they are ready to learn!

Great review of "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons", Karen! Thanks for taking the time to help other parents learn more about this popular homeschool reading curriculum. So helpful! Blessings, Heather :)
