Southeast Homeschool Expo Delivers Timely Support... and Shopping!
If you live anywhere near Atlanta Georgia, add the Southeast Homeschool Expo to your must-do homeschooling event list for the summer.
Whether you are just considering homeschooling or have been homeschooling for years, you are sure to find help, support and encouragement, no matter where you are on your educational journey at this annual summer convention.
There's a proverb that says, "Timely advice is lovely, like golden apples in a silver basket." For over ten years, The Southeast Homeschool Expo has been bringing timely advice when home educators and their families need it most – right before the new school year starts.
Everyone feels a little drained at the end of the homeschool year. Summer is a great time of refreshment; a time to rethink how the year went and evaluate what you have done.
Sometimes we can feel discouraged or just too tired to want to continue to homeschool, even though we know it's the right decision for our family.
Don't give up! Those feelings will fade. Attending a homeschool convention may be just the thing you need to feel re-energizes and motivated to go on.
Experienced Home Educators Give Back
For over twenty-five years, the St Denis family has been organizing conferences and giving back to the homeschool community. Having successfully homeschooled all seven of their children, they are experts when it comes to both putting on conferences and creating an event that will meet the needs of homeschooling families. Their goal is create homeschooling events where parents get all the actual tools, information and encouragement they need – not just a pep talk!
Same Time Each Year
The 2013 Southeast Homeschool Expo is at the Cobb Galleria Center, in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 25-27, 2013.
Expert Speakers
The featured speakers you will here will speak on a variety of topics from how to begin homeschooling and how to choose curriculum, to how to teach specific subjects and restoring your purpose for homeschooling.
Some of the speakers from past expos have been: Debbie Strayer, Steve Demme, Rebecca Ingram Powell, Dr Jeff Myers and others! If you don't know who these people are, you will by the time the conference is over! :)
Free Workshops
You will find over 100 workshops during the three-day conference. They are all free and you can attend as many as you like.
Children and Teen Conferences
You can attend the expo alone or bring your whole family. Your children, ages 4-12, can register for Kidzone - a mini conference designed just for them. Your teens, ages 13-18, will be challenged in their faith as a young adult, when they attend the Worldview Teen Track.
If you have homeschooling students who want to go to college, you will want to make time to check out the College Fair. You will learn about the college admissions process, financial aid, course offerings, etc. from a variety of universities and colleges.
Huge Vendor Hall
Listening to great speakers is wonderful, but a favorite highlight of attending any homeschool convention is the vendor hall. You will find hundreds of exhibitors who offer the latest products, helpful services and educational materials to help you in your homeschooling journey. You'll want to make sure you wear comfortable shoes – the vendor hall at this expo is huge!
