South America Home School Help Needed

by Mario
(South America)

We moved recently to South America due to work related reasons and we cannot find decent schools for our kids. I heard about home schooling and want to try it but... will it be legal for us to homeschool out of the states? If so, what steps should I take to make sure I won't run into problems with the school district?

Homeschooling out of the country
by: Linda Oliveras

Hello,

I have homeschooled in Mexico before and yes it is legal. I am not sure if you are purchasing a curriculum or not but I did my everyday work just like I did here in the states. I sent in the paper work to my homeschool program and we were done. The best solution to this issue that I can offer is the check with HSLDA Home School Legal Defense Association and they should have the rules and regulations for the country that you are living in, they can also tell you the best way to approach everything in case the authorities there were to give you trouble. The fee to join them is $100 and you can even discounts from different places. Please let me know if you have any futher questions, you can contact me privately at heavenlykids@sbcglobal.net

I hope this information helps you on your journey!

God Bless!

I'm in no way affiliated with that site, but I have gotten excellent information for myself from the site. Best of luck to you!
