Sing, Spell, Read and Write

Teach your child to read painlessly. Homeschooling mom shares an insightful Sing, Spell, Read and Write review to help you learn more about this homeschool reading program...

Sing, Spell, Read, and Write is a fantastic way to teach little ones to read. It involves using 36 easy-to-follow lessons and allows you to teach your child independent reading during that period. This is the light at the tunnel for parents who have pre-school and kindergarten-aged children and are feeling a little overwhelmed at the responsibility of teaching their child not only to sound out words independently, but to read well.

I used Sing, Spell, Read, and Write as a child and now am using the same updated curriculum with my children. I have four children, the two oldest are 5 and 3 years of age. While the 5 year old is actively engaged in learning, the 3 year old is definitely picking up on the lessons as well. It includes an easy to follow 'race track' chart to move a little car along as you complete the lessons. There are simple easy-to-read beginner books included as part of the lessons to practice reading words with a particular letter (or common combo's such as 'ch'). This helps to build a solid foundation that your child can build on as his/her vocabulary and knowledge of linguistics grows.

English is said to be one of the hardest languages to learn because of how many 'exceptions' there are to learn along with the 'rules' (i.e. learning K makes a 'kuh' sound, but then seeing a word like 'knife' can bewilder a kindergartener). This course helps to eliminate a lot of that confusion. Another method of teaching that this course employs is memorizing through song. As a graduate of this course myself many years ago, I still remember the songs! They are so helpful in remembering letters and the sounds they make.

I believe this course is worth every dollar of its cost. It is made even more cost effective when you use it for more than one child (and you can). Purchase this one time and teach every child in your family to read, with one of the most 'painless' teaching programs out there. :)

Elizabeth,
Thanks so much for the insightful Sing, Spell, Read and Write review. Parents considering this homeschool reading program, will find your thoughts and experience helpful. Thanks for taking the time to help others! Blessings, Heather :)
