Some Seton Home Schooling Books
Seton Home Schooling = Private Catholic education without the astronomical private school cost.I wanted my son to go to a Catholic School but could not afford it. So, I looked for a home school alternative that would provide the Catholic education I wanted for my son. I found Seton home schooling curriculum last year. He completed first grade and I am now getting ready for second grade.
Seton is an actual school that you can enroll into or you can just purchase the materials and do your own thing. We enrolled.
The materials are straight forward. The school provides counselors over the phone and a website where you can download support material. Communication with the school staff is very easy and straight forward.
My son is working towards his first communion at this time. I got my Church's approval to teach him at home because the Religion class materials were so thorough. It goes into more detail than the CDC class taught at Church in the afternoons.
The Language arts portion of the curriculum takes a large chunk of the morning for us. There are five different components: English Grammar, Phonics, Spelling, Handwriting, and Reading. My son and I found the Math curriculum ok but prefer Math-U-See. We use the Seton home schooling math book as a supplement to the Math-U-See topics.
All other subjects worked out just fine. At the end of each quarter, I send Seton the tests my son has completed and the grades I have awarded him. He looks forward to getting back his quarterly certificates of completion. The cost of the program is very reasonable.
Thanks for reviewing the Seton home schooling program, Betty! I love your details! Blessings, Heather :)Would you like to leave a comment, or write your own homeschool curriculum review? Use the links below...
