Seton Home School Curriculum Review

Seton Home School Curriculum Review

Busy parents seeking accredited, traditional Catholic school curriculum will love Seton home school program. It works well for large families too, since Seton has been around long enough to know the best methods to use to help them. Using paper lessons plans and instructor's guides, as well as information, lesson plans & testing via the internet, Seton has streamlined the home school process!

How long have you used it?
We have used Seton for four years, going on five years this fall.

What grades did you use it for?
K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th.

What do you like most about it?
I do not have to plan my own curriculum, and since I am not a very organized person, this is a tremendous help to me. Not to mention that I can spend more time with my children during non-school hours since Seton has done all the lesson planning for me. I am also completely confident that Seton is providing my children with a "top-notch" education and there are no "holes" in their schooling, due to a lack of organization/error on my part. Seton home schooling students are incredibly well-prepared to enter the local high school, or should I chose to continue home schooling them for high school, Seton offers a high caliber high school program as well.

Is it affordable? Why?
It costs less than $2,000 to educate my four children, compared to the local Catholic school charging $3,000 to educate ONE child, so I would say it is a great deal.

Do you have any cost-cutting tips, etc. to share when using this curriculum?
When enrolling multiple children, make sure to let Seton know which books you already have in advance. They will deduct this amount off the tuition.

Christine, thanks for reviewing Seton home school curriculum and giving parents get an inside look at how this curriculum can work for their family. I know families looking for Catholic home school curriculum will find your thoughts very helpful! Blessings, Heather :)

Seton Home School Academy Review: Preschool/Kindergarten

by Sharon
(Michigan, US)

Seton home school program is an accredited Catholic home study program. Read this moms testimonial to learn more...

I just started homeschooling and after looking at several programs I went with Seton home school curriculum. I LOVE the program. I am combining the preschool and the kindergarten curriculum. It is great that I am able to do that.

My daughter has only just turned 3, but she is so smart that we chose to start teaching her now. She picks up on tons every day. We don't push anything at the moment. I do read the lessons and pull them into our daily activities as much as possible.

Thanks for sharing about Seton home school curriculum, Sharon! I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts and help others! Blessings, Heather

Seton Home School Curriculum and School

Some Seton Home School Books

Some Seton Home School Books

Seton Home School = Private Catholic education without the astronomical private school cost.

I wanted my son to go to a Catholic School but could not afford it. So, I looked for a home school alternative that would provide the Catholic education I wanted for my son. I found Seton home schooling curriculum last year. He completed first grade and I am now getting ready for second grade.

Seton is an actual school that you can enroll into or you can just purchase the materials and do your own thing. We enrolled.

The materials are straight forward. The school provides counselors over the phone and a website where you can download support material. Communication with the school staff is very easy and straight forward.

My son is working towards his first communion at this time. I got my Church's approval to teach him at home because the Religion class materials were so thorough. It goes into more detail than the CDC class taught at Church in the afternoons.

The Language arts portion of the curriculum takes a large chunk of the morning for us. There are five different components: English Grammar, Phonics, Spelling, Handwriting, and Reading. My son and I found the Math curriculum ok but prefer Math-U-See. We use the Seton home schooling math book as a supplement to the Math-U-See topics.

All other subjects worked out just fine. At the end of each quarter, I send Seton the tests my son has completed and the grades I have awarded him. He looks forward to getting back his quarterly certificates of completion. The cost of the program is very reasonable.

Thanks for reviewing the Seton home school program, Betty! I love your details! Blessings, Heather :)

Seton Home School Curriculum: Elementary Level

by Dolores Miller

Seton Home School

Seton Home School

I have been using Seton home school curriculum for my children for seven years. It is a Catholic faith-based curriculum and I am currently teaching grades 2 and 6.

Seton curriculum can be used all the way through High School. I particularly like that the school keeps transcripts on the students. Parents receive them quarterly.

Some grades are parent submitted and others are graded by the Seton staff. Some grades offer online test submission which my oldest daughter started last year. It is very easy to do.

The Seton home school program is very affordable and the price can change with the grade level but there are sibling discounts as well. Money can be saved by hanging on to books used by older children. Credits are given for books you already own. I also like the day-by-day lesson guide sent with the curriculum.

Great review of Seton home school curriculum, Dolores! Thanks for including some money-saving tips; its much appreciated! Blessings, Heather :)

Seton Home School Study

by Michelle Stamper
(Daytona Beach Florida, USA)

I have used Seton Home School Study curriculum for grades kindergarten to fourth grade.

Seton is by far the best curriculum made available to home school educators. The price is a little expensive ($500.00) a year, however Seton allows easy payment plans of $58.00 a month. This enrollment provides all materials, teaching guide, the students report cards are available online, work it submitted and graded by Seton. Thanks to Seton my home school experience has been extremely easy. The material may be a little overwhelming at first for your child, but you have the choice to tweak the curriculum that is best suited for your young student. I would recommend Seton to any home school family!

Hi Michelle,
Thanks for taking the time to help other homeschooling parents learn more about Seton Home School Study curriculum; your thoughts are appreciated and helpful! I like that you included information about Seton's payment plan. Blessings, Heather :)
