ACE Homeschool Review

Trying to homeschool multiple kids but haven’t found the right curriculum yet? Mom of seven shares why ACE homeschool curriculum is the perfect fit for her busy family...

We just used School of Tomorrow ACE homeschool curriculum for the first time and I love it! I have seven kids ranging in age from a fifteen year-old in 10th grade, to a one year-old. With one in high school, two in middle school (8th and 6th), two in elementary school (4th and 2nd), one in preschool, and a toddler, I needed something easy and quick, where they could often work independently.

In the past we had tried unit studies curriculum, where everyone does the same thing just on different levels, as well as traditional curriculum, but we never found a true fit until now.

With ACE homeschool curriculum, each child knows what is expected of them and how long they have to do lessons. They can work independently and they have the ability to work ahead. When one needs help, it is not a problem for me to focus on them for a while because everyone else is working.

The paces for the younger kids are colorful, attractive and easy to understand.

We did not allow are children to write in the paces. Instead, they wrote their answers in notebooks. That way, we can reuse the books for all seven kids instead of having to purchase them seven times. I highly recommend ACE paces to families with multiple children!

Wow, Jeannette, you are one busy homeschooling mama! Isn't it great when you finally find something that works for you and your family? Makes life so much easier. Thanks for sharing about ACE homeschool curriculum; your input will be very helpful to others, I'm sure. Blessings, Heather :)

Thank you. I needed to read your advice. I am going to try paces this year. I am a mother of 3 and think I will not write on them either. Going to try your notebook idea and see if it works. Thanks again!

I used ACE all the way through and after using other curriculums i have returned to ACE for my daughters as well. For those of you who read the bad stuff from older folks ACE has made huge improvements since 20 years ago. I have also heard of people using clear plastic and dry erase or even regular crayola washables as an alternative to the notebook method especially with younger ones and pictures etc. good luck. Bless you

School of Tomorrow PACE's
by: Melissa

I currently homeschool 3 children using A.C.E. I love their cirriculum!

I have been able to obtain most of their PACE's thru either eBay or Christian Book.

I've supplemented the cirriculum by surfing the net for ideas. I have been able to find math drills for the younger ones(pgr.funkeys.egoogle-search.net.ua & genuineaid.com); Bible study ideas to teach my children deeper meaning of God's Word; learned how to teach agricultural skills by finding different ways to plant a garden (http://moneysavingmom.com/2012/02/reuse-gallon-milk-jugs-to-start-seedlings-for-your-garden.html). The possibilities are endless!

Hope this is helpful to someone else.

how to get a diploma as an adult with ACE
by: Anonymous

If you check out the A.C.E's website it looks like they now offer an accredited online school, which means you could do the a.c.e program and use their paces.

You can do it!
by: Gina

You can go on the ACE website and do an online diagnostic test to see what PACEs to order. There may be a local ACE school near you that you can go through and work at home so you can get your Diploma. Congratulations on do this! I recently taught a 77 year old precious saint in our church how to read using the Ace curriculum. God Bless You in this endeavor.

former student turns homeschool mom
by: Amanda

I went to a private ACE school from 4th to 9th grade. I remember it being very easy to understand, very easy to work independently and I still use what I learned to this day. The English curriculum is GREAT! This year our state is implementing the Common Core (sub)standards so my husband and I are pulling our children (k,1st,2nd,and 4th) and homeschooling them. We have one child who is gifted (reading at a 5th grade level in kindergarten) and one who has struggled because of her late start with speaking (she is behind by one grade). Knowing what I know from my experience with this curriculum, I am more than confident that each of these children will benefit from the self paced aspect of ACE. The common sense approach to subjects like Math and English will help my older child to increase her fundamental understanding and that will be her best building blocks toward success, while my younger child will be able to move forward and be challenged rather than having to repeat the same tasks over and over while her classmates are busy not being "left behind." This is really the most simple, self administered, complete homeschooling curriculum. While you wont NEED any additional materials, you will have plenty of time and opportunity to add in your own details to make it reflect YOUR family's culture and values (cooking, sewing, gardening, wildlife, hunting, 4-H, sports). I hope this is helpful for anyone considering using ACE.

Hi Rudy,
You can purchase ACE Paces and other homeschooling materials through this ACE affiliated link: http://www.scee.edu.au/home-schooling/indonesian-christian-home-educationiche/

I found this information through ACE's Global Support section on their website.

Hope this helps! If you have any other homeschooling questions, feel free to ask.
Blessings,
Heather :)
