Saxon Math Home School Math Success!
I love Saxon Math books. We been homeschooling for seven years and have used Saxon Math for the last six years.
We've used Math 3 all the way to Algebra 1/2.
My kids can do the math lesson and problems without any assistance from me. It's nice to have a book that is so well organized and offers enough practice that they student learns the problems easily and well.
Each Saxon Math home school math lesson involves some "mental math" which are problems done in their head, a timed math sheet, the lesson, and then approximately 25-30 problems to complete. There are tests after completing five lessons.
My son sometimes wants to finish school early in the day. He gets up early, completes his lesson and problems before I'm up. He's so proud of himself. He's only 10. He just completed Saxon Math 5/4 last year and will be doing 6/5 this year. He's just starting the 5th grade.
My daughter completed Algebra 1/2 last year and had very few problems understanding how to do the lessons.
We will begin Algebra 1 this year. I did purchase the DIVE CD and am quite impressed with the assistance it offers for Algebra.
I love Saxon Math and would never switch home school math programs.
