Rod and Staff Homeschool Curriculum Review

Rod and Staff Homeschool Curriculum Review

Rod and Staff Homeschool Curriculum Review

Money-saving mom shares why she chooses and uses Rod and Staff homeschool curriculum with her family...

I will be homeschooling my children this fall using Rod and Staff homeschool curriculum and materials.

I chose Rod and Staff because I like that they are Christian-based, easy to follow, thorough, and fairly inexpensive in comparison to other curriculums. We plan to purchase the 2nd grade and kindergarten curriculums.

To save money, I will photocopy pages from the workbooks and organize them in binders so that younger siblings can re-use them.

Erica, thanks for sharing about Rod and Staff homeschool curriculum and for your money-saving tip! Blessings, Heather :)

Copyright Violation?

Is the practice of copying workbook pages legal and/or approved by the publisher?

Copying Workbooks
by: Heather

Some publishers do allow copying for use within a family. I am not sure about Rod and Staff, but yes, you should always check first before making copies of any workbooks, etc.
I just discovered I have an old Rod and Staff reading course and do not see anything that says you can't copy the workbooks, but I would check first.
Blessings,
Heather

Copyright is Copyright

If the material is copyrighted...

And if the publisher does not expressly give permission for copying...

Assume permission is NOT granted, not vice versa.

ILLEGAL to copy
by: Anonymous

Just stumbled on this while looking for reviews.

I am appalled at how many people copy things illegally! As someone else said, the words "© Copyright 1973" mean the material is PROTECTED by US copyright laws.

The workbooks and test booklets are CONSUMABLE. Of course, the textbook and teacher book are made to be used again and again. And seriously, the workbook and test book are just $2 or $3 each. Please anyone reading this, don't copy things illegally.

Erasable pens
by: Alexandra

There are better ways. For instance, using a clear plastic sheet over the pages + erasable pens. We did this by cutting out two sides of a plastic report cover, fitting a page in between the clear plastic, and using children's felt tip markers. The answers erase with a damp microfiber cloth.

OP here

Original poster here. Just for everyone's piece of mind, I did not violate any copyright laws. I wrote this over a year ago, and did not even end up using Rod and Staff.

PS - Great idea, Alexandra :-)
