My first homeschooling year was last year and we used Sonlight homeschool curriculum. We completed Core 1 for my 1st and 3rd grader, and are ready to start Core 2. What I loved most about it was that it was all planned out and it took very little prep time to set up and maintain throughout the year. The best part was the books we read together which is how the learning is set up. A good story taught many things including history, geography, and vocabulary; with the "heart-felt" story line, we were all able to remember so much more than I ever remember learning when I was in school. I also was able to memorize scripture for the first time in my life, and have used these memorized verses throughout the year with discipline, character building and overall shaping of my two daughters.
