Progressive Phonics: Free Homeschool Reading Program

All-in-One Homeschool Reading Program

All-in-One Homeschool Reading Program

Check out this absolutely free homeschool reading program - includes handwriting too!

My kids did a combination of Progressive Phonics and Explode the Code to supplement literacy at school.

Progressive Phonics is fun and great for new readers who want to participate in reading aloud but don't have many words down yet. It goes through phonics step by step. Your child will probably not read solely through Progressive Phonics so I'd also do Explode the Code to really teach phonics, but Progressive Phonics is fun because it's silly rhymes and gives your child confidence.

When I used progressive phonics, it was new and free. Now they charge a little per book. I think it's worth it, but just a caution: the books are long! When you print it out, color looks better but it takes a lot of toner!

You can find Progressive Phonics at (www.progressivephonics.com)

Thanks for the great recommendation! I checked out the Progressive Phonics website and it is free (they now have a corporate sponsor). It looks like you need to create an account to download materials, but in the FAQ's it states that this program is free. Thanks again! Heather :)

Thank you for your advice. I will start home schooling my children in September, and I am looking for a K program.
