New homeschooling mom shares why she chose The Mystery of History for her 7th grade daughter; read her review...
The Mystery of History curriculum was one of two that I was considering teaching to my 7th grader. I am a fairly new homeschool teacher--we began in October, 2012. I borrowed the books through a mutual friend, so I didn't have any out of pocket cost.
My daughter needed curriculum that would grab her attention and keep it! She also needs to be able to use her hands and create. Due to some learning challenges, finding history books that would work for her was very difficult! The Mystery of History teaches history from the very beginning--creation. So not only is she learning history, she is also learning about the Bible too! She actually asks to do extra history lessons! Since it adapts to all grades (K-12), I would recommend this curriculum to anyone.
Beckie, congratulations on your decision to homeschool your 7th grade daughter! Thanks for sharing your The Mystery of History review and how your daughter is enjoying it. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated! Blessings, Heather

I can’t wait to use our homeschool history curriculum, Mystery of History, this year. I have started getting this ready for our lessons, and am so impressed. We are using Volume 1, and it looks so interesting and educational. My girls are chomping at the bit to get started. It seems to be from a total Christian perspective, so if that is what you are looking for then you will really like it.
The lessons start at Creation and go to the birth of Christ. There is a timeline that goes along with it, so you can mark off the historical and Biblical events that happened as time went on.
So as you can tell, I am really looking forward to getting started. I have planned all the lessons out and it seems to work beautifully with our schedule this year.
Janyne, I can tell you are excited. :) Have a wonderful time studying history with your girls this year! Blessings, Heather

MOH Homeschool History Curriculum Mom
My family has used all three volumes of Mystery of History homeschool history curriculum and loved every one. It was their favorite subject.
As a mom I loved the Biblical perspective and tying the Bible to actual history events. The kids loved the easy fun activities. They learned a ton and enjoyed every minute of it.
Thanks for sharing about Mystery of History, Karen. I have some friends who also use this homeschool history curriculum and love it too! Blessings, Heather

If you're looking for a hands-on homeschool history curriculum OR have an autistic child, you'll find this mom's testimonial helpful...
We used Mystery of History for our homeschool history lessons last year and enjoyed it. My 14 year old is autistic and the hands-on approach of timelines helped her see the connection. I also liked how I was able to adapt it when we needed to go slow.
Thanks for sharing your experience using Mystery of History with others, Kim! Parents looking for a hands-on homeschool history curriculum or who have an autistic child will definitely find your thoughts helpful. Blessings, Heather :)
