My Father's World Homeschool Kindergarten Curriculum

Affordable, easy-to-use homeschool kindergarten curriculum; learn more about My Father's World and find helpful, cost-cutting tips from a money-saving Michigan homeschooling mom...

My name is Beka and my husband Rob and I have two daughters; Mikayla-5 years old and Hannah- 2 years old. I started homeschooling my 5 year old last year with the My Father's World kindergarten curriculum.

The thing I loved most about it was the complete organization to the lesson plans. It came packaged neatly in a binder with very easy day by day activities. I love that every week they offered a hands-on craft or science project to do. (i.e play-doh crafts, science experiments, painting, building, etc...) Each activity has a list of the needed materials. Most of the things needed for the activities were the average household item or could easily be printed from home. The time spent each day doing the lessons were very age appropriate.

As a Christian, I really loved that each weeks lessons were focused on a character building trait and gave Bible verses to read and memorize. This aspect really helps to join everyday educating with Biblical topics at a 4 or 5 year olds level. The curriculum also includes a large book list to read with your child, most of which you can borrow at your local library.

I found My Father's World homeschool curriculum very affordable. You have the choice to just buy the lesson planning book with the student work book only or add on supplemental supplies if desired. You can also buy the deluxe package which includes it all for a discounted rate. I like the choice to be able to use whatever materials I may already have at home and not be forced to buy a more expensive package.

My cost cutting tips are to utilize your internet and printer capabilities and print up whatever you can at home. Also go to the library and take advantage of all of the resources there.

Excellent review of My Father's World, Rebekah! Thanks for taking the time to help other parents learn more about MFW homeschool kindergarten curriculum. I appreciate your money-saving tips too! Blessings, Heather :)

My Father's World Kindergarten & 1st Grade Homeschool Curriculum Review

My Father's World = Hands-on Homeschool Curriculum

My Father's World = Hands-on Homeschool Curriculum

New homeschooling mom says, "If you're looking for extremely affordable, hands-on homeschool curriculum, My Father's World may be the perfect choice for you!"

We really enjoy My Father's World homeschool curriculum. As a new home school family, this all inclusive curriculum keeps it simple and on task! I only had to purchase one package for each grade and the basic package includes Reading, Writing, Math, Bible, Science and Art lesson plans. There are a few supplements to purchase (such as a math book and an art book) if you choose to teach them.

We started in early July, so we have been using this curriculum for almost a month. My 4yo is participating in the Kindergarten curriculum and it is a great pace for her! My 1st grader enjoys his 1G curriculum and also enjoys using the K activities for extra art time.

My Father’s World curriculum is extremely affordable. For $105 for each package, we split the cost up into two buying trips and used Mardel's 20% off sales to purchase them both. We have spoken with many other homeschooling families who use MFW and have been able to borrow or trade some items that are needed. We also watch at garage sales (found the Math book for 50 cents) and take advantage of friends offering to loan us items (such as a butterfly garden).

Also, the curriculum simply requires basic school supply needs, so we have been taking advantage of early sale prices and stocking up for the year!

The science projects are great! This is one area we have found that dad can really help out!

1G is written on a five day plan (we try to teach M-F). K is written on a six day lesson, so you do not start a new topic each Monday. These plans are written so user friendly that if we miss a day here or there, it is very simple to get right back into the swing of it!

Robin, welcome to the wonderful world of homeschooling! I am so happy that everything is going so well for you and that you found some great resources to guide you through your first year. Thanks for sharing about My Father's World; it's so appreciated! Wishing you many blessings this year, Heather :)

My Father's World Homeschool Unit Studies Review

My Father's World Homeschool Unit Studies Success

My Father's World Homeschool Unit Studies Success

First-time homeschooling mom finds kindergarten success with My Father's World homeschool unit studies curriculum. Read her informative review...

As a first-time homeschool mom, I was nervous about what I had gotten into. Yet, our first year of homeschooling has been an absolute joy! I credit a large part of our success to the curriculum we've used, "My Father's World."

We have used the Kindergarten level curriculum and found it very well-developed, interesting, and just plain fun! We have used the deluxe package, which includes not only the teacher's manual, student workbook, and basic materials like alphabet flashcards, but also an ant farm, butterfly habitat, and so much more! The extra materials have added a level of interest to our learning, but it would still be a great curriculum set without them.

I especially like that the material is taught through unit studies that teach about the world around us. I like that in each unit there is plenty of math and reading, but also science and plenty of opportunity for movement (like acting out a story). It seems like it would be great for kids of all different learning styles.

I have many friends who are homeschooling too, and whenever we talk about what our kids are learning right now, they always seem amazed at our curriculum. I've received many comments about how our curriculum "sounds like so much fun" or "no wonder your daughter is learning so much."

I have been thrilled with all that my daughter is learning, and plan to use this curriculum again when my son reaches Kindergarten age. The teacher's materials are clear and easy to follow, the material is easily customizable to your child's level of learning, and it really is fun!

Excellent review, Niki! Thanks for sharing your experience with My Father's World; your thoughts will be very helpful to other parents looking for hands-on materials or a homeschool unit studies curriculum. Blessings, Heather :)

My Father's World Homeschool Kindergarten Curriculum

by Kelley Kuehn

Learn more about My Father's World Kindergarten curriculum from this new homeschooling mom...

I am a new homeschool mom and was not sure where to even begin with choosing a curriculum. I researched many different kindergarten curriculums before deciding on My Father's World. I was looking for a curriculum that would help both of my children as I have twins and they learn VERY differently. My Father's World (MFW) seemed to combine both styles of learning. So we decided we would give it a try.

After a month of using it, I can say we love it! Both children are excelling and are enjoying it fully. When one is struggling he/she doesn't get too discouraged because he/she knows the area where they excel will be coming up during the same week's lesson. They are learning to strive to do well in all aspects whether it is their strong area or weak area. As for teaching the curriculum, it is so easy!

MFW literally spells out everything for you so all you have to do is gather materials from the local library and start your weekly lesson. Each lesson is 6 days worth. The students really get a good solid foundation for the letter and sound before moving on to the next letter and sound. I couldn't be happier with this curriculum. The alphabet, numbers, reading, math, science, history, and the Bible are all rolled up into one wonderful curriculum to excite the child in every area of "school".

Yay! I love reading homeschool reviews like this! I'm so glad you found a curriculum that works for you and your children; thanks for taking the time to share. Other parents who are interested in My Father's World Kindergarten curriculum will find your input very helpful. Blessings, Heather :)

My Father's World Kindergarten and First Grade Review

My Father's World Homeschool Curriculum Success

My Father's World Homeschool Curriculum Success

I'm using K and 1st this year and we are almost finished. I LOVE My Father’s World homeschool curriculum! It is a complete curriculum that is totally biblically centered!

My son in first grade has learned to become a fluent reader b/c of the phonics integrated into the curriculum. He has also memorized many proverbs (1/wk started several wks into school)! He has grown so much spiritually since we've been using this curriculum.

My daughter is using MFW (My Father’s World) K and learns one letter and sound per week. She is now reading three letter words and the letter/theme focuses on a truth about God every week. There is great science and math also built into the curriculum.

My Father's World is very affordable and also has a message board where you can ask questions, get encouragement, etc.

Thanks for the review, Jessica. It's very helpful!
