My Father's World Kindergarten & 1st Grade Homeschool Curriculum Review

by Robin James
(Edmond, OK, USA)

My Father's World = Hands-on Homeschool Curriculum

My Father's World = Hands-on Homeschool Curriculum

New homeschooling mom says, "If you're looking for extremely affordable, hands-on homeschool curriculum, My Father's World may be the perfect choice for you!"

We really enjoy My Father's World homeschool curriculum. As a new home school family, this all inclusive curriculum keeps it simple and on task! I only had to purchase one package for each grade and the basic package includes Reading, Writing, Math, Bible, Science and Art lesson plans. There are a few supplements to purchase (such as a math book and an art book) if you choose to teach them.

We started in early July, so we have been using this curriculum for almost a month. My 4yo is participating in the Kindergarten curriculum and it is a great pace for her! My 1st grader enjoys his 1G curriculum and also enjoys using the K activities for extra art time.

My Father’s World curriculum is extremely affordable. For $105 for each package, we split the cost up into two buying trips and used Mardel's 20% off sales to purchase them both. We have spoken with many other homeschooling families who use MFW and have been able to borrow or trade some items that are needed. We also watch at garage sales (found the Math book for 50 cents) and take advantage of friends offering to loan us items (such as a butterfly garden).

Also, the curriculum simply requires basic school supply needs, so we have been taking advantage of early sale prices and stocking up for the year!

The science projects are great! This is one area we have found that dad can really help out!

1G is written on a five day plan (we try to teach M-F). K is written on a six day lesson, so you do not start a new topic each Monday. These plans are written so user friendly that if we miss a day here or there, it is very simple to get right back into the swing of it!

Robin, welcome to the wonderful world of homeschooling! I am so happy that everything is going so well for you and that you found some great resources to guide you through your first year. Thanks for sharing about My Father's World; it's so appreciated! Wishing you many blessings this year, Heather :)

Adventures, ECC, and new catalog
by: Kim

We are finishing up MFW Adventures and so excited about Exploring Countries and Cultures.

I sure hope the 2011 catalog comes out soon. Right now it's still the 2010.
