My Father's World Homeschool Unit Studies Success
As a first-time homeschool mom, I was nervous about what I had gotten into. Yet, our first year of homeschooling has been an absolute joy! I credit a large part of our success to the curriculum we've used, "My Father's World." We have used the Kindergarten level curriculum and found it very well-developed, interesting, and just plain fun! We have used the deluxe package, which includes not only the teacher's manual, student workbook, and basic materials like alphabet flashcards, but also an ant farm, butterfly habitat, and so much more! The extra materials have added a level of interest to our learning, but it would still be a great curriculum set without them. I especially like that the material is taught through unit studies that teach about the world around us. I like that in each unit there is plenty of math and reading, but also science and plenty of opportunity for movement (like acting out a story). It seems like it would be great for kids of all different learning styles. I have many friends who are homeschooling too, and whenever we talk about what our kids are learning right now, they always seem amazed at our curriculum. I've received many comments about how our curriculum "sounds like so much fun" or "no wonder your daughter is learning so much." I have been thrilled with all that my daughter is learning, and plan to use this curriculum again when my son reaches Kindergarten age. The teacher's materials are clear and easy to follow, the material is easily customizable to your child's level of learning, and it really is fun! Excellent review, Niki!
