This year we began using My Father's World, Countries and Cultures (3rd and 4th grade), as well as the kindergarten curriculum with our older three children (10, 8 and 5).
Initially I was attracted to the Charlotte Mason type lesson plans and the focus on cultures and people worldwide. I also like the missions focus of the entire series and the fact that it cycles through approximately every 4 years. The company sells expansion sets for junior high years.
The deluxe curriculum came fully boxed with letter manipulatives, science books, missionary biographies, art books, geography etc. I was very impressed with the level of customer care I received. After ordering, I received a phone call from the company asking about my order with a recommendation to combine some subjects and add another book. This saved me time and shipping fees!
With regards to actually USING the curriculum (which is what you really want to know), we have enjoyed some of it and tweaked other parts. After looking through the teacher's manual I realized there was no separate heading for history.
Sometimes the kids seem a little bored with what's required for the day. On the other hand, sometime things (like Latin?) are a little too difficult for us to accommodate at this stage.
All in all, I do like the curriculum. The fact that so many things have been gathered for me, the reading list is set out at the beginning of the term, the plans are week-at-a-glance as well as day-by-day, and encompass all the subjects I'd like to cover (except a separate history).
I think the price is fair as well. Without having to purchase too many extra items (excluding math, Latin, and English), our school year was pretty much purchased with one order!
