More Mudpies to Magnets Review

Michigan homeschooling mom shares a very affordable homeschool science project book for preschool and Kindergarten children...
The book More Mudpies to Magnets
is a preschool to Kindergarten level science project book. It is a followup to Mudpies to Magnets
, which has a slightly younger focus that introduces science experimenting/playing for toddlers/preschoolers.
I enjoy how the experiments are divided up in the second book. Examples include: Chemistry beginnings, First Physics, Mathworks, Animal Adventures... etc. Each experiment has a supply list and is numerated with steps and a "want to do more?" section to expand the learning. Many of the ideas are simple to enact and serve as a springboard for questioning how the world works.
I think a curiosity about why things are the way they are is fundamental to maintaining joy and enthusiasm for learning, so I think these books are an excellent foundation for all children, both genders. There is a wide range of early ages targeted in the books and the ideas can easily be adapted for more detailed inquiries for the older kids if you are doing a mixed-age crowd. You may not do science every day with your homeschoolers, but experiment time is a fun addition to any curriculum and these books are a nice solid resource.Excellent review of More Mudpies to Magnets, Molly! I really appreciate the time you took to help others; your comments are very helpful and informative. Blessings, Heather :)
