Last year was our first year with Modern Curriculum Press homeschool math curriculum. We used their kindergarten text and it really worked well for us.

We loved many things about this book. I loved the fact that is wasn't too heavy, workload wise.

Each day we did two pages and it was very do-able. Time wise, it allowed me to present the lesson, do a few intro exercises to present the lesson, then do the workbook. Sometimes, no real lesson presentation was needed, so we would get done quickly.

I also liked the teacher's manual; it was easy to understand and follow.

Lastly, my daughter loved the graphics in this books. Lots of cute animals, flowers, fruits, veggies etc., made math fun for us.

Thus far, I have found MCP homeschool math curriculum to be very affordable, as you are just buying the text/workbook + teacher's manual (not required if you are confident with the subject matter), and not any extras.

This year we'll be tackling the grade 1 text and so far it looks just as nice as the K version.
