Can you recommend a good Christian homeschool history curriculum to this mom? Her son wants to study the middle east. Thanks!

My son wants to study the history of the middle east for his junior year, but I'm not sure where to find a good Christian curriculum that focuses on that region's history. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Uncle Eric Books!
by: Ms. B.

Ooooh! The best books I've seen for studying the history of the Middle East come from Bluestocking Press and are part of the Uncle Eric Series.

Start with The Thousand Year War in the Mideast and then move on to their books about WWI and WWII.

You can find them here:

Middle-East HomeSchool History
by: Keith Bennett

The Christian History Project has been producing an eminently readable series of books on the history of Christianity over the past 10 years. Titled, TheChristians these books can be read by anyone from about 13, depending on reading grade, and beyond. Each volume, there are 10 so far, covers approximately one century. To understand the Middle East, a reader needs to at least begin at the time of the Prophet Mohammad, in this case you would start with Volume 5, The Sword of Islam, which covers the period from AD 565 to 740. In it you will discover how Islam came about, how it became a force to be reckoned with. Within one hundred years of the death of the Prophet it held sway over all the lands from Persia in the East through Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, and conquered Egypt, all North Africa and Spain. This is a fine collection: well-researched, vetted by a team of academics, written by journalists for Christians who want to know their roots.
