Michigan Homeschool Grants Question

by Anne Chappel
(Perry, MI USA)

I am trying to decide what I am going to do with one of my children next year her doctor said it would be beneficial if she would be home schooled but we are on a budget and her doctor said there are grants available and she would help get a grant if needed could you please help.

Hi Anne,
As far as I know, there are no grants available specifically for homeschooling. Perhaps your doctor knows of grants for medical situations.

As far as the cost of homeschooling, most parents only spend a few hundred dollars per year, per child for curriculum. Many spend less than that. You can find a lot of free and low-cost options online.

What grade is your daughter in?

Many homeschool support groups have used book sales where you can find inexpensive curriculum. There are several groups in your area you can contact. They may also know of families who have curriculum to sell or give away.

Blessings,
Heather

My daughter is in 10th grade. It was my doctor who told me that there were scholarships for homeschooling. With all my daughters medical problems she thinks she would be better off at home. How do you get the curriculum for high school.
