Math-U-See Homeschool Math Curriculum

Homeschooling mom shares some frustrations of switching her children from Saxon to Math-U-See homeschool math curriculum...

I switched to Math-U-See homeschool math curriculum from Saxon 3 this past year with a child in 1st grade. I will be using it from the beginning with my Kindergartner this year. I love the easy breakdown of concepts. Math-U-See offers plenty of practice (too much for my 1st grader - I went to giving the lesson & then the test), although I don't expect the same for my Kindergarten child.

When switching from other curriculum, the set up of the Math-U-See may frustrate you. We hadn't covered X in this book which was what brought us to the book, but we had already covered W, Y & Z. My only dislike is the extreme lack of writing space for early/reluctant writers. (I have heard they are correcting this though).

Great tips, Mary! Thanks for sharing about Math-U-See homeschool math curriculum; your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Wishing you multiple homeschool blessings, Heather :)
