Homeschool Ideas Needed

I will be teaching ancient civilizations to my daughter, this year. Will Roy Wilkinson's TEACHING HISTORY offer main lesson ideas, or does this book focus mostly on subject content?

I am looking for some suggestions regarding how to present and help my child absorb the material in this block. Can you direct me to some resource? Thank you.
