Looking for a Homeschool Curriculum

by Concerned Mother

I am researching homeschooling programs and trying to find the one with the best education for my kids. I was looking for one with a good phonics and reading program. I also want to make sure that the curriculum we choose will allow them to get a high school diploma and be able to attend any college they choose.

maybe Abeka? NEW
by: Leah

Have you looked into Abeka? They have their own college where I have heard the cost is less than traditional because they use the profits from the curriculum sales to help subsidize the overhead. This may be an option. I don't know all the details about the diploma but I would think that would be involved as well since they have the school. We have used some of the 1st and 2nd grade reading and phonics and have enjoyed them. We don't do the entrie Abeka program but I have a friend whose daughter is in high school and she is using some of the Abeka CD's for algebra and science. They seem to like that as well. Just a thought.

A Beka Academy NEW
by: H

I'm a current high school student of ABA, and I can tell you that ABA is really a good choice. I use the entire accredited program, it is great. I know some of my peers from ABA went through the whole program until college. We even created our own Facebook page and Debate club page. The only downside is, they don't have French and AP courses that I wanted this year, so I have to get other curriculum. Try it. I think ABA has 30-day money back guarantee policy.
