Learning Language Arts Through Literature

Homeschooling with Literature

We have used the Learning Language Arts Through Literature curriculum for both kids and we love it!

I especially like the fact that all of the various disciplines (reading, spelling, writing, vocabulary, grammar, etc) are incorporated into one book, so there's no need to go about buying separate books for language arts and break the bank!

What's more, the components are integrated in a logical style, so that your child reads a passage, answers grammar questions related to the passage as well as comprehension exercises, has spelling words from the passage, and then is called on to write something related to the passage. It all makes sense: grammar rules and spelling words are not arbitrarily introduced out of context. The lessons are short and relevant.

Both of my children have scored very high on standardized tests, and in my opinion, this curriculum prepares children well for testing, should you need to do this for your state requirements.

Great review, Fabiola! Would you believe I had the whole first grade (blue book) LLATL learn-to-read course tucked away for years, and finally used it for the first time this year? Loved it - so easy to use and my daughter started reading quickly. Many blessings! Heather
