JoAnn Teacher Appreciation Days are usually in August. These are special days that teachers and home educators can shop and save 25%* on all their purchases. You know what's really cool? The discount applies to regular-priced, sale-price, and clearance items. I've seen some great clearance prices at JoAnn Fabrics over the years!

*Must present current teacher identification and state-issued photo ID at register to qualify. Exclusions apply.

Mark your calendar for Saturday and Sunday, August 9 & 10, 2014 for JoAnn's Back-to-School Teacher Appreciation Days.

While you are there...

Sign up for the JoAnn Teacher Discount Card! Visit Guest Services at any Jo-Ann store. Per Jo-Ann, the requirements are:

  • Teachers - require current teacher identification and state-issued photo ID
  • Home School Educators - require an affidavit to home school or other documentation that reflects home school teacher status OR official group membership and state-issued photo ID.
(PEAH's homeschool id cards are photo identification - you can get them free through your homeschool group, or by submitting an informative review to our site to help others - see below.)

The JoAnn Teacher Rewards Discount program offers:
  • Free discount card for 15% off every purchase* from September 1 to August 31
  • Bonus coupon for 20% off any one total purchase after enrollment
  • More of our popular, money-saving coupons as a Jo-Ann Preferred Customer.
  • Personal notice of the latest sales offers, crafting trends & inspiration.

Sometimes Jo-Ann hosts a week-long Teacher Appreciation in Spring. They usually host a back-to-school Teacher Appreciation Day as well - that's the one in August.

We will post any other dates for 2014/2015, as they become available.

PEAH issues free homeschool id cards through homeschool groups or when you submit a homeschool curriculum/business review through our website.

Teacher Appreciation Day NEW
by: Anonymous

I would just like to comment that one of your stores did NOT make me feel very appreciated today as a teacher. I was told that I MUST show a pay stub in order to receive my free gift. They would not honor my OEA card that clearly states that I belong to my TEACHER union and I was told when I showed the card that ANY employee could get that card - even a principal. To my knowledge, principals (nor any other school employee)do NOT belong to my TEACHER union. I was also denied any discount on my purchase because I was a teacher. I did not see in your email advertisement any referance to having to show a pay stub. It said a TEACHER identification (which I thought was my OEA card) and a photo ID (my driver's license would be that). I am VERY disappointed in the way I was treated today and will find it a VERY long time before I shop in your store again.

Joann's Discount NEW

I was denied my discount today too & told to show a pay stub. At the Glendale Joann's. Very rude & demeaning. Not only is my ID current, but I am ver pregnant & emotional. It hurt my feelings- not just the "no," but the tone & manner in which this woman spoke: like I was a criminal. I have been teaching for 10 years. It was very disheartening, & will prefer to get my craft items at Michaels from now on- where they not only accept my ID-they constantly give out positive comments to customers & especially teachers! Such as smiling & saying "You give so much to students. How wonderful!" Not only that- they offer to help (pregnant) women with their bags to their car. The customer service & one on one kindness Michael's employees show reflect well on the whole corporation. I am sorry the Joann's ladies hate their jobs so much they must make people feel like criminals for trying to spend their hard earned money there. I left the store embarassed & feeling horrible. No, I will not be back.
