Horizons Homeschooling Math Curriculum Review

Horizon's Homeschooling Math Courses

Learn more about Horizons homeschooling math books by reading this helpful mom's well-written and informative homeschool curriculum review...

I have used Horizons homeschooling Math books for K, 1st Grade, and currently for 2nd Grade. I enjoy using them immensely. I feel like the order of the skills taught makes sense, and builds upon previous skills taught. For example, when my 2nd grader was first being introduced to double digit subtraction, the curriculum had already prepared her by teaching ahead of time how to regroup the ones place and the tens' place, making it easier for her to understand how to carry.

The lessons are challenging enough for me as the teacher to feel that my student is learning and being stretched. The pages of the workbook are easy to read and colorful, and my student actually enjoys doing the work. The Teacher's Guide is informative and helpful, giving ideas for supplemental math work, and also taking the teacher step-by-step through how to teach each lesson. The curriculum can be expensive, but it seems to be comparable to other popular curriculums out there. Overall I am very happy with this product.

Thanks for the well-written and informative review of Horizons homeschooling Math curriculum. Your thoughts are very much appreciated, Gabrielle! Blessings, Heather :)
