Hooked on Phonics Review - Learn to Read K-2

by a HOP mom
(US)

AJ learning to read using the HOP program

AJ learning to read using the HOP program

We started using Hooked on Phonics (HOP) this past summer for our 7 and 5 year old boys. We've been using it now for about 5 months and LOVE the program!

Our 7-year-old is in 2nd grade and was already a pretty good reader. The HOP program has given him an extra boost and helps him understand many of the rules of the English language. He's finished with the first 2nd grade workbook and is excited to start on the second workbook.

Our 5-year-old is in Kindergarten and knew his letters and sounds when we started the program. He's now almost finished with the Kindergarten HOP workbook and has made AMAZING progress!!! He can sound out a lot of words and has so much confidence in reading. He loves reading basic books by himself and I love that he's so excited learn!

We bought the previous HOP program when the newest version was released so it was very affordable. I highly recommend it! Just be sure to look for sales or discounts. :)

Thanks for the the informative Hooked on Phonics review! I appreciate the time you took to help other parents learn more about this homeschool reading program. Blessings, Heather :) PS I love the picture you included!
