When my daughter finished preschool and all her classmates were reading these little books that were part of their phonics, my daughter couldn't. So over the summer we got Hooked on Phonics Kindergarten. My daughter enjoyed it a lot. There are lots of little books that build on each other to teach sounds and words. There was also a little board that we put stickers on when we read a book and passed a level- just like a game. It was great motivation. Now my daughter is going into 2nd grade and she has already read almost all her school books for this year. She loves to read.
