Homeschooling in NC Questions

Mom of two young children would like to begin homeschooling in NC and needs some help...

I am seriously considering homeschooling my child. I have two sons. One just started K and is the type of child that does well with people around and needs to be where he is.

My oldest is struggling. He is in 3rd grade and is big for his size. He has been bullied for three years now and just doesn't want to go through it any more. He has faced many issues. He is struggling with reading due to an eye convergence problem. I just don't know what to do.

We can't afford an expensive home school. But we want to protect him and teach him at home. We live in Johnston County NC. Please help me. I don't know where to start or what to do.
