IEW Homeschool Writing Curriculum Review
I am a "veteran" homeschooling mother with 15 years service and a troop of 7 soldiers, I mean, students. I have tried several writing curriculums over the years only to end up with a 14 year old son who hated writing! I had heard great things of IEW, but always balked at the initial price. After a few short lessons, writing became my son's favorite "subject", as he couldn't wait to hear what Mr. Pudewa was going to teach next. Mr. Pudewa expertly makes the case not only for the importance of writing, but why writing should not be taught as its own subject, but be incorporated as a tool to learn all the other subjects. One year later, I have a 15 year old son who can now confidently write about any subject and enjoys doing it. He is also becoming an excellent communicator as these "writing" skills have spilled over into all areas of his personal development and education.
