Homeschool Review: The First Whole Book of Diagrams

Homeschool Review and Grammar Resource

Homeschooling mom shares a wonderful grammar resource for diagramming sentences. Read her homeschool review of "The First Whole Book of Diagrams"...

I am currently using The First Whole Book of Diagrams as my primary teaching tool in grammar for my 11 year old son.

While this book may not work as a stand-alone, it is a wonderful resource for teaching grammar! It starts with basic two word sentence diagrams and builds from there, incorporating the parts of speech, clauses, etc. The teachers pages are at the back of the book, so there is not teacher's manual to buy separately. I think it is very cost effective.

Although I said it is not a stand-alone program, if you are very comfortable teaching grammar then it may well be. I am using it as my primary resource right now.

I think this is a wonderful book, and I would recommend it to anyone teaching diagramming, no matter what other grammar course they may be using.

Thanks for sharing a homeschool review to help others, Janice. I have never heard of this grammar resource before! Diagramming sentences can be a struggle for students. I am sure other parents will find your comments helpful. Blessings, Heather :)
