Sonlight Homeschooling Curriculum Review
One Sonlight homeschool curriculum user refers another Sonlight curriculum user and so on, and so on, and so on. Find out why by reading this mom’s review...I bought Sonlight homeschool curriculum because it was suggested to me by a friend. It was quite expensive but came with a lot of books and supplies so it was worth the money spent. I know of ways to get the same education a lot cheaper but it takes time and effort. Sonlight sends everything you need in a box.
It was a bit confusing to order. I ended up getting the wrong thing and had to fix my mess up. Once I got it all sorted out it was very easy to follow. The lesson plans are all set up so there's very little daily prep on the parent’s part.
This curriculum worked great for my 8 yr old who loves books and is very self-driven. We are half way through the curriculum now. Soon after starting it we stopped following the schedule because my son did better doing a week’s worth of a couple subjects at a time better then a small amount of several subjects each day. So we would pick a couple subjects to concentrate on each day and do the whole week’s worth of assignments at once. This might not work for everyone but my son liked this much better.
I ended up getting the Horizons math which I regret doing. It repeats everything so much and my son gets so bored with it. We've tried several things and still struggle with this part. I would buy from Sonlight again but would definitely order it differently next time. There were parts we ended up not using. Over all they are a good company and for someone who doesn't have the time or ability to piece together their own curriculum this is a great way to go.
Thanks for the review of Sonlight homeschool curriculum, Trina! Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Blessings, Heather :)
