Homeschool Review of Flash Kids Curriculum
Check out this mom's homeschool review to learn about an inexpensive homeschooling curriculum that's fun and interesting for both kids and parents! We like to home school in a classical, un-schooling way. We like to keep book work to a minimum supplement other subjects as we find things of interest during a library trip or other places that life brings us through. I've found most curriculum to be filled with a lot of unnecessary and boring things for the kids and either I or they lose interest very quickly. My goal is to inspire creativity and a love for learning; something that cannot be taught with a ton of bookwork.
I went to a local Barnes & Nobles book store a few years ago and searched through all of their home school curriculum and books and decided to try Flash Kids curriculum for my kids. So far, it is the best curriculum I've worked through and did not throw out like so many other 'all in one curriculum books'.
Flash Kids explains each lesson well and there are a lot of supplemental books if your child needs extra work for multiplication, sight words, money, etc. The pages are interesting to look at and the books go through the necessary information at a good pace. Without being boring and I feel like my kids are progressing in their learning.
The best part for me is the low cost of all of the books. A full year's curriculum book cost around $20. I am very sad they stop at 7th grade and now I have to find other things for my two oldest children. I've homeschooled using Flash Kids for grades K-7; I have five children.
Trudi! Thanks so much for the wonderful review of Flash Kids Curriculum; I have never heard of it before and am glad you shared it with us. I think your input will be very helpful to other parents looking for a less book work-style of homeschooling. Wishing you many blessings! Heather :)You can find
Flash Kids Curriculum at Barnes & Noble for around 28% off! (Until 1/31/2011 this curriculum is 57% off - cool!)
Barnes & Noble is homeschool friendly and includes home educators in their
Barnes & Noble Education Appreciate Days throughout the year.
