Homeschool Reading Review: Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons

Easy-to-Use Homeschool Reading Program

Easy-to-Use Homeschool Reading Program

Enjoy homeschool reading success with an affordable, easy-to-use phonics and reading program for young children...

I have found the book, How to Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons to be the best phonics program for my homeschool. I used it with my Preschooler (now 1st grader) and it's exceptional. It helped develop his love of reading knowing he could decode how to read without the usual sight-words method. When we finished the book, he was reading at 2nd grade level! I'm currently using it with my preschool daughter and she loves it.

Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons is a modification and extension of DISTARĀ® (Direct Instruction System for Teaching, Achievement and Remediation). Children easily move step-by-step with phonics (sounds for letters) and learn the essential skills (left out of other phonics programs) to blend the sounds into words. Built on this unique phonics foundation, children quickly start to read those words in fully illustrated stories.

It was designed to be user-friendly for parents & tutors who want to teach young (3- to 6-year old) non-readers. The book contains 100 twenty-minute lessons that are clearly color-coded and scripted (including how to motivate, teach, and correct) so that both you and the child you are teaching can be successful.

I would highly recommend this homeschool reading program for preschool/kindergarten homeschoolers who already know their alphabets and want to proceed beyond that. It worked (and still works for us).

Tawa, thanks for reviewing this affordable and easy-to-use homeschool reading program; your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Blessings, Heather :)
