Homeschool Reading Curriculum: Sing, Spell, Read, & Write

SSRW Homeschool Reading Curriculum Review

SSRW Homeschool Reading Curriculum Review

Wonderful and informative review of Sing, Spell, Read and Write homeschool reading program, written by a fellow home educator...

I chose to do a review on the Sing, Spell, Read and Write homeschool reading program because it works wonderfully for preschool through grade-school homeschool families who have several different ages and learning styles learning at the same time. This program covers visual learners using visual games, auditory learners using cassettes or cd's, and kinesthetic learners using body movement to learn with moving games and hands-on learners with touching games, cars, scissors, pencils, crayons.

Sing, Spell, Read and Write worked very well for my family when they were younger and met the individual needs of each one of my children (5). I used it to teach all my children to read, write, and spell for about 15 years for all (7) children including teaching my niece and nephew to read and write well.

When my sister-in-law put her children into the public school system, their perfect penmanship and reading to the comma's and the periods went out the window in favor of how "fast" they could read and write. Their perfect writing became illegible, and they developed ticks from being stressed to read and write too fast!

This homeschool reading curriculum is all inclusive and you can buy extra books in the same levels. It is such a marvelous experience to watch your children emerge from the cocoon as a non-reading caterpillar and then to become a beautiful reader like a butterfly taking flight for the first time in all its glorious colors! Spreading its wings and flying away into the world of reading where all doors open to a person. Similar to when your child first learns to ride his/her bike alone. Pretty exciting!

Kim, thanks for such a well-written, informative review! I appreciate the time you took to include details and tips that will definitely help others know if this homeschool reading program is right for their family. Blessings, Heather :)
