Want some extra cash or a new sewing machine? Sew your own homeschool prom dress and enter it into the "Sew Jo-Ann" sewing contest to win great prizes!

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the leading fabric and craft specialty retailer in America, has once again issued the challenge – create a handmade prom look and enter it into the Sew Jo-Ann Prom Contest.

"The 2008 Sew Jo-Ann Prom Contest demonstrated an outstanding level of talent and ability among young sewers across the country," said Michelle Christensen, Jo-Ann vice president, general merchandise manager. "Our hope is that this contest will continue to cultivate students' creativity and help them achieve a one-of-a-kind prom look."

Once students have had the chance to showcase their unique prom garments to their classmates at their homeschool prom, they'll have the opportunity to compete for great prizes.

To enter, students fill out the entry form and submit two photos of their garment along with a Jo-Ann register receipt that shows the purchase of their fabric. Judging will be based on workmanship, originality and level of detail. This contest is open to all students, including homeschoolers!
