Homeschool Mom Shares ABeka Homeschool Tip

ABeka Homeschool Tip: Pick n' choose what works for you!

ABeka Homeschool Tip: Pick n' choose what works for you!

Not sure about ABeka homeschool materials? Choose the good. Eliminate the bad and the result is a customized education that benefits your unique homeschooling family.

I have used some Abeka homeschool materials in the early grades. I found some of their reading materials very beneficial to early learners.

I tried using some of their Social Studies (Christian-based) materials and found them to be too biased in a direction that was not my own, and had to discard them. Teacher/parents considering this curriculum should look at each subject separately, as well as each grade level.

As I looked ahead at higher grade levels I found some of their materials (especially Social Studies and some science, and of course their religious education) to have a very strongly opinionated emphasis that all Christians may not believe in, as I did not.

You give some good advice, Pauline. You don’t have to use the same publisher for the entire grade level, but can pick and choose courses and curriculum that fit your needs!
