Homeschool Ideas in a Box

Great Homeschool Organizing Tool
I love the idea of being organized, but don't always achieve my lofty homeschool organizing goals. One tool I have used for several years and it works great is my file crates.
Using manilla file folders I store ideas I find in magazines, on websites, from books, etc. You can get file crates at Wal-Mart very cheaply and keep the file folders in alphabetical order. As I find information on a new topic, I simply create a new file folder and stick it in.
So now if my kids discover a frog colony in the backyard, I can pull my frog folder and have unit study material at my fingertips.
I keep anything from patterns to lesson plans to pictures to resource lists. Anything I find that relates to frogs will get placed in the frog file. This works for any topic!!
The crates stack for easy storage or line them along a closet wall. We have moved many times over the years and the crates move and grow with us.
