Homeschool History Curriculum by Pandia Press
I have been eying the Pandia Press homeschool history curriculum for years now and have finally downloaded the free lessons...and will be purchasing the full print version shortly. The free lessons will take a month or more to cover... enough time to get a good feel if it will work for your children's learning styles.
The kids now look forward to doing history! With this course, students learn outlining techniques, summarizing in paragraph form, and use timelines and maps. It is history, geography and writing all in one easy to do format.
I am currently using it with 7th/5th and 3rd grade. I require more from the older students and give more help with the younger ones.
What I like about Pandia homeschool history curriculum is we all read from the same books, but each student ends up with a different, personalized binder of information that was important to them.
I found this curriculum affordable at +/- $50 for a year-long course. You will need a number of other books, but most can be found at the local library or online. You could also just use library books on topic if the recommended ones are unavailable.
Also, I would recommend checking out "enchanted learning" to supplement any curriculum used. Lots of outline maps and good reference material and some of the content is free.
Thanks for the review of Pandia Press homeschool history curriculum - its much appreciated! Blessings, Heather :)Would you like to leave a comment, or write your own homeschool curriculum review? Use the links below...
