(Most computers today come with some form of Excel, or similar program.) Taking a little time to create your transcript on a spreadsheet, helps you maximize your time and provides an easy way for you to re-use what you set up, for additional children. As a busy home educator and parent, you need to always make sure you don’t waste time by redoing the same tasks over and over again, right? (That's called re-inventing the wheel!) And to leverage your time further, here's a little plug for home school support groups... If you are not part of a homeschool group or network, take some time to find one. Ideas, support, useful information as well as resources created by skillful parents are freely shared among members. You are sure to hook up with some other like-minded individuals who want to help, and share some great resources they’ve created to support other home educators. The best members give and receive support! Free Sample Home School Transcript! With that said, I am excited to pass along to you, a sample transcript, created by Wendy McMillian, a wonderfully giving home educator from North Carolina.Wendy, (who has been homeschooling since 2002) and her husband operated a home for troubled girls for about five years, out of their home...
Some home school transcript tips from Wendy: 1. Contact Potential Colleges and Universities"My youngest daughter will be graduating next year and wants to enroll in college to become an Agriculturist. I did check with a few colleges about how they viewed home schooled students and they all said they loved home schooled students because they were more disciplined in their work/study habits.Parents should not hesitate to contact Colleges and Universities about home schooled students and get an understanding about how the college/university views those types of students." 2. Keep All Your Records in One Place."As for the transcript, I also set up a spreadsheet program for my daughter (as well as for the other girls that we had in the home), where I have an attendance record that I recreated from the NC attendance form and a grade report form that I created for each of her high school years. This way all the high school info is in one place and easily accessed."Wendy has graciously provided a sample home school transcript, to help you in creating homeschool transcripts for your family. The student’s personal information has been changed, but this is the actual one she sent when applying to colleges. Enjoy! And, Yes... you will also be able to get your very own free homeschool transcript template, just like Wendy’s Trendy Transcript! Coming soon... :) Download your sample transcript now!
