Home School Student Needs Transcript Help

by Jordan
(Boca Raton, Florida)

Hello. I am a home school student who graduated in 2009. My parent did not keep a record of my studies beyond what was necessary. Thus, I lack "proof", if you will, of the classes and studies that I have completed. I don't know what to do regarding my transcript. I have recently applied to a college, and they require a transcript. I'm not sure what I should do. Surely I cannot hand them a blank transcript and say hey, well, my ACT scores were okay. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jordan,
Download a copy of the free homeschool transcript template from my website. Make sure you change the header information to include your own home school name, etc. You can find help to do that on the transcript help page.

Then, I would make a list of all the classes you took during high school. Organize them into the years you took them. This may take a bit of work and thinking back on your part. Perhaps your parents followed the graduation requirements for a high school diploma in Florida. (You can find info on graduation requirements for your year at facts.org or here.)

The hardest part will be to remember the grades you received in each of your classes. If your parents are like me though, they will still have your notebooks, binders and tests somewhere! :)

Hopefully this helps! It will take a bit of time, but you can create or re-create your transcript to submit to the college.

Blessings,
Heather :)
