Must-Read Home School Books

A quick way to learn about home education is to read some "How to Start" home school books written by current and former home schooling parents.

Many well-known educators have also written books on the benefits of home-based education versus learning in a traditional classroom.

Through their research and experience, they offer practical guidance and insight into how children learn best, as well as bring to light the many ways in which our public education system has failed us.

Some books offer a broad overview of home schooling while others focus on specific homeschooling methods.

Finding one or two good books that provide information on a wide variety of home schooling topics will help you to learn quickly. Then you can take time to learn more about the different home school styles and methods that interest you.

Below I've listed some must-read How to Start home school books that some of my homeschooling friends have recommended to me as well as others I have read over the years. I have also included a brief description of the book.
