Highschool Homeschooling SAT Test Prep Course
Highschool Homeschooling: Money for College
Highschool homeschooling student shares what she learned by attending a College Prep Genius workshop to help prepare for her SAT Test.
Last spring, I had the opportunity to participate with a group of local homeschoolers in a two-day workshop called College Prep Genius, to prepare me for taking the SAT. Jean Burke, the speaker and founder, kept the material interesting and interactive, and it helped prepare me immensely for test day.
Previous to participating in this seminar, I was very unsure of what the SAT would contain or be like, but after going through step-by-step each of the section of the test, I grew to know the in's and out's of the monster called the "Scholastic Aptitude Test".
Studying for the SAT is hard enough; when you don't even know where to start or what to study, it makes everything ten times harder than it needs to be. The colloquium on the SAT aided me by showing me what areas of the test required more attention, and revealed studying and test-taking tricks.
I took the SAT at a local high school this past Saturday, and when I came out from the test, I felt confident and sure that I had done well. (Hopefully when I get my scores in two weeks, they will reflect that as well (: ) Thanks to Jean Burke and her College Prep Genius course, I was able to study effectively, and enter that testing room with confidence and peace of mind. Thanks for sharing your experience with Jean Burke and College Prep Genius, Michaela! I think other parents who have highschool homeschooling students heading to college, or who are considering this program, will find your input very helpful. Blessings to you! :)
