Free Reading Program for 6th Grade and Below

Each summer, public libraries all across the United States host a free Summer Reading Program for kids 6th grade and below. If you have older children they may be able to participate by volunteering their time helping the librarians with registration, crowd control or with a craft project.
The program meets once a week for an activity and your child will be able to check out books and return books during this time. This is a great way to help improve your child's reading skills during the summer. Check with your local library to see if they are hosting a Summer Reading Program for the children in your area. Most of these programs start around the first week of June with registration starting the last week of May. Thanks for posting this information, Carol; I appreciate it! Summer reading programs are a great way to keep our kids reading all summer long! Blessings, Heather :)
