Stress-free Homeschool Literature Curriculum

Stress-free Homeschool Literature Curriculum

Attention Homeschool Parents of Young Children: Enjoy a stress-free year of homeschooling with this simple, yet comprehensive homeschool literature curriculum...

I have used Five-in-a-Row for several years with my younger children, (ages 3-8), and it has been a true blessing for all of us. We are currently going on our third round with this curriculum, and I can't even express all of the many benefits we reap from the rich learning from reading classic children's literature.

The study guide volumes are inexpensive and comprehensive, and we have been able to find most of the books covered right at our local library. The books that are not available at our public library, we have been able to obtain through our town's inter-library loan process.

One of the aspects of this curriculum that we love is how easy it is to use with a multi-aged group of children. I have five children, so this is especially important to me. Five-in-A-Row is attractive to all of my children, from preschool right through middle school. We look forward to snuggling on the couch each day to read the story, and the activities are hands-on, easily adaptable for different ages and abilities, and FUN!

A lasting benefit my children have carried with them after completing all 3 volumes of Five-in-A-Row, is that they continue to read with critical and analytical eyes. They truly have a love for real books, and enjoy comparing/contrasting illustrations, identifying literary devices, and most of all, have learned the benefit of both reading aloud and listening to others read aloud.

I highly recommend Five-In-A-Row as a comprehensive homeschool literature curriculum for preschool through 2nd grade.

Thanks for sharing about FIAR! If I could recommend just ONE resource for new homeschoolers or parents of young elementary-aged children, hands down it would be Five In A Row's homeschool literature-based curriculum. We have used FIAR for each of our school-aged children and every one has loved it. We just finished all three volumes with my six year old and now she's asking to do it again. :) Happy homeschooling, Heather

PS We also did lapbooking this past year with my 6yo; she and I had so much fun! We found lots of lapbooking resources for the FIAR books at homeschoolshare.com.

Not sure what lapbooking is? You can see a couple of my (Heather) daughter's lapbooks pictured on our free homeschooling curriculum page.
